Use heat pump technology to heat your home’s water

The average water heater uses more energy than refrigeration, clothes washing and drying, and dishwashing combined. Making the switch to a heat pump water heater (HPWH) is the most energy efficient way to heat your home’s water while saving money and reducing your home’s carbon footprint.

Why Electrify

Heat pump water heaters for efficient water heating

Heat pump water heaters (HPWHs) are the most energy efficient options for heating the water in your home. Sometimes called hybrid water heaters, HPWHs use heat pump technology to keep water warm using the heat from the surrounding air. This method uses existing heat instead of generating new heat, making it more efficient than traditional hot water heating. HPWHs also dehumidify the areas around them, which can be helpful if your water heater is installed in the basement or another area with high levels of moisture.
